To Storage Facilities,
Just wanted to drop you a thank you note. You did a great job during my recent move. I was able to find a mini storage facility fast and easy.
Everything went great, from the first form that I submitted to the actual move. I received many interesting Self Storage Quotes and I was able to sort them out and to choose the best one for my needs. I am also spreading the word around about your website!

To StorageFacilities team
I am writing to commend the service of your website. I really appreciated your service and I did not even know that it exists. Only at the last minute, I learned that my new home is not ready because the builder did not receive a certificate of occupancy. I panicked. I have no place to store my furniture. I needed to find a self storage facility near my new home. I filled out the form on your site and in a very short time I was able to rent a storage unit 3000 miles away. You made my life so much easier and I thank you for that.

Food Storage
Food, primarily comes under the “perishable items” category and hence they are generally on the” restricted” list of storage items. However there are specialized warehouse and storage units that store perishable food for a brief period of time in climate controlled storage. However the storage facilities that store personal belongings will not permit storage of food items as a rule.
The logic for storage units which store personal belongings to stay away from food items is that the latter can attract pests, rodents and vermin. The quality of the food can be decayed with time and the cost of damage can be colossal if the food is infested. Further insurance companies do not provide cover for goods if they are stored with perishable food items.
However as mentioned, earlier, there are specialized warehouses that store food for a short period of time. There are deep freezers which maintain a temperature of zero F (minus 18 C). They use the freezer thermometer to check the quality of the food regularly. Fresh meat like beef and pork can last for 3-4 months. Lean fish can last upto 6 months. A whole chicken can last for a year while the parts of chicken can last for about 9 months. As far as dairy products are concerned, frozen cheese suffers loss in terms of taste and texture. Milk can last for a month and ice-creams can last from 2-4 months. Eggs in shell cannot be kept in a freezer but they can be refrigerated with a temperature of 40 F (5 C). They can last for three weeks while hard-boiled eggs can be refrigerated upto one week.
Food kept in the freezer has to be tightly wrapped. These warehouses are climate controlled to fight even the slightest trace of mold growth. One should point out that mold formation is even likely when food is refrigerated. Though not a health hazard, they can definitely make the food look and taste bland. Mold tends to form below the surface of the food. You can cut out the large area around the mold beneath items like hard cheese, fruits and vegetables and still consume the food.
There are some items like wine whose quality appreciates with time. Wine storage is considered by many because wine has a good investment value. The older the wine, the better is the value it commands. Wine stored correctly can last for years. There are storage facilities that create conducive conditions for apt storage of wines. Accurate temperature and humidity level is maintained to keep the wine in excellent condition. The exact temperature for wine storage is reported to be between 56-58 F. This kind of temperature maintains the balance of organic esters which gives flavor and biochemical compounds which is responsible for the enriched quality of the wine. Maintaining the right temperature makes the wine age graciously and taste splendid. Self storage units that deal in storing wines have plastic protectors to take care of the labels of the wine bottles too.
