To Storage Facilities,
Just wanted to drop you a thank you note. You did a great job during my recent move. I was able to find a mini storage facility fast and easy.
Everything went great, from the first form that I submitted to the actual move. I received many interesting Self Storage Quotes and I was able to sort them out and to choose the best one for my needs. I am also spreading the word around about your website!

To StorageFacilities team
I am writing to commend the service of your website. I really appreciated your service and I did not even know that it exists. Only at the last minute, I learned that my new home is not ready because the builder did not receive a certificate of occupancy. I panicked. I have no place to store my furniture. I needed to find a self storage facility near my new home. I filled out the form on your site and in a very short time I was able to rent a storage unit 3000 miles away. You made my life so much easier and I thank you for that.

Helpful Storage Pointers

While opting for a self-storage unit or a public storage, you should make a list of items that need to be stored. A well planned list is half the battle won. Once you have stored your items properly, you should make an inventory of the stored items and keep the list in a safe and accessible place.

You should make use of standardized boxes because you can store and stack them easily. When you stack them, you should always keep the heavy items at the bottom and the lighter ones on the top. Here are some tips which should make you store your goods properly and help you get your money’s worth without paying for extra space:

• You should keep clothes in large appliances like the washing machine. The interior part of the washing machine is convenient to store light weight items like clothes. Remove hoses from the washing machine and keep them in the tub. Also secure the electrical cords with taps to thwart any short circuits or wire damage.
• You can even utilize the space in your refrigerator to store small items. One important tip is to keep the door of your refrigerator slightly open so that the mold growth could be prevented.
• See that you wrap items made of glass in a bubble wrap or any other protective covering before you pack them in strong boxes.
• Create more space by propping big beds and mattresses so that they stand erect.
• You should keep your packing boxes full with padding and crumpled newspaper because if you fill them halfway, then they can easily lose their balance and fall down if anything heavy is placed atop them.
• Fold items like chairs, sofa, baby bedding etc if they have the folding feature built-in in them. You can even detach the legs of furniture and plastic items to create more space.
• You should always see that your appliances and furniture do not gather moisture and dust. The self storage facility will take adequate measures to see that optimum storage conditions are made available to you. You should also leave some space between the unit wall and your belongings so that air can circulate liberally within the unit. Another way to prevent condensation and dust build-up is by covering your items with a linen cloth to stop them from gathering dust.
• You should always keep your expensive items at the back in your self storage unit. Secure your unit with a high quality padlock. Ask the self storage unit to give you a call and get a confirmation from you if a person authorized by you wants to gain access to the storage unit.
• Do not store combustible, inflammable or explosive items. They are strictly forbidden.
• Leave little gaps between the boxes and the furniture in your storage unit so that you can have access to your goods easily and without any hassle.
